Thank You for Checking Out Our Sight Native American Ministries was started out of an alarming observation that many reservation ministries were failing not because of a lack of vision, but, instead, because of a lack of resources. Over the years we watched pastors with a calling on their lives and a deep desire to reach their people with the gospel walk away from their churches because they simply could not go it alone. These were godly servants who did not have the means to fix leaky roofs, develop ministries that built trust and lasting relationships with the people in their communities, nor have nearby, fellow ministers with whom they could confide in and figure out solutions to their dilemmas. They were intelligent and capable but could not carry their heavy loads without helping hands. Who can? My wife, Diane, and I decided to do something about it. We developed this ministry in order to come alongside of reservation pastors and simply ask them, “What can we do to help you fulfill the vision that God has given you for your church and community?” This is an extremely important question for several reasons. One reason is that it means any task, ministry, or program that we do on any reservation is always in conjunction with a local church. We do not act as independent agents doing our own thing. Another reason is that it means the pastor is the one calling the shots no matter their age, tenure, training, etc. Finally, it gives them hope and confidence that even in the most isolated and economically challenged reservation they can succeed. It is important, as you peruse our website, that you realize our success in assisting reservation pastors is absolutely dependent on your involvement. Native American Ministries works because of the myriad of volunteers we mobilize every year in order to coordinate and conduct community outreaches, construction projects, auxiliary programs such as our Christmas box and school supply programs, just to name a few. Pray for us, join with us in any number of projects, and supply the finances and resources we need in order to resource the vision of reservation pastors.
